鈥淏uffalo Bill鈥� Cody Fights the Bureau of Reclamation
The Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) was deeply involved in the development of the American West, including the development of townsites near reclamation projects. We hold letters from William 鈥淏uffalo Bill鈥� Cody to President Theodore Roosevelt and the Secretary of the Interior expressing his concerns over the development of the town of Powell, WY, which he feared would be detrimental to his development of Ralston, WY, where he had acquired land. This letter, written in 1909, expresses his concerns and attempts to leverage his national significance.
