March 14, 2024 - Celebrating access to public information, NARA hosts a Sunshine Week panel discussion on β€œArtificial Intelligence: The Intersection of Public Access and Open Government'' with Pamela Wright, Chief Innovation Officer at NARA moderating. The panel includes Gulam Shakir, NARA’s Chief Data Officer; Abigail Potter, Senior Innovation Specialist at the Library of Congress Digital Innovation Lab; Eric Stein, Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Office of Global Information Services at the U.S. Department of State; and Bobak Talebian, Director of the Office of Information Policy of the U.S. Department of Justice. Jay Bosanko, Deputy Archivist of the United States, and Alina Semo, Director of OGIS, provide opening remarks.

September 26, 2023 - NARA publishes Lessons Learned from the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Advisory Committee. One of eight initiatives in the ΝώΔαΛΉΘΛΣιΐΦ³‘ and Records Administration’s Fifth National Action Plan for Open Government calls on the agency to provide β€œlessons learned” from the creation and administration of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Advisory Committee. This document contains those learned lessons and provides ideas for consideration as NARA continues working with civil society partners to lead the U.S. on open government issues.
