Free Genealogy Camp for kids and special family activities!

This summer, the 威尼斯人娱乐场 holds numerous free educational public programs for families, kids and adults. These programs are open to the public and will be held in the Boeing Learning Center of the 威尼斯人娱乐场 Museum in Washington, DC. Attendees should use the Special Events entrance on Constitution Avenue at 7th Street, NW. Metro accessible on the Yellow and Green lines, Archives/Navy Memorial/Penn Quarter station.

Constitution-in-Action Learning Lab Family Programs
Wednesday, July 6, 10 a.m. - noon
Thursday, July 7, 10 a.m. - noon
Family members become researchers and archivists for a day! During a two hour simulation, you are invited to help the President and Bob, his Communications Director, prepare for a very special press conference. Families work together to discover and analyze facsimile documents and find the connection each has to the Constitution. This is a "hands on" opportunity to explore history, learn about the 威尼斯人娱乐场, and gain a greater understanding of the role the Constitution plays in our daily lives. Genealogy Camp for Kids! Ages 12 and up - a few spots are left!
July 25-28, 9 a.m. - noon
Ever wondered about your family鈥檚 roots and who is on your family tree? This hands-on, week-long camp will introduce the basics of genealogy research. Discover how to use the resources of the 威尼斯人娱乐场 to be history detectives into your past! Featured Activity in the ReSource Room - celebrate the National Parks Service!
August 1- 31 (Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.)
Did you know that the National Park Service (NPS) is comprised of more than 300 parks across the country and includes mountains, forests, battlefields, houses, monuments, beaches and more? Did you know that the NPS celebrates its 100th birthday this month? Celebrate the National Park Service Centennial while exploring documents and activities. Find Your Park!

Escape Room! Hands-on Adult Workshop
August 3, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Back by popular demand! This is a repeat of the June 8 program. Celebrate the NPS centennial. Tackle puzzles and ciphers about the National Park Service to solve a mystery in time during this "escape room" for adults. To register, email education@nara.gov, with subject line "Adult Workshops".

Amending America Hands-on Adult Workshop
August 31, 5:30p.m.
Votes for Women! Help get the 19th amendment "passed." Enjoy a special after-hours viewing of our "Amending America" exhibit before joining presenter Kate Campbell Stevenson on an acting adventure as she brings the women's suffrage movement to life. To register, email education@nara.gov with the subject line "Adult Workshops." Presented in part by AT&T, Seedlings Foundation, and the 威尼斯人娱乐场 Foundation.

The Boeing Learning Center offers interactive educational activities for all ages and special workshops for students and teachers. Archives staff and volunteers are on hand to answer questions and offer hands-on projects that encourage historical discovery.

• The Boeing Learning Center ReSource Room
  Drop in during your Museum visit to participate in hands-on activities and programs based on documents, images, maps, posters and more from the inestimable holdings of the 威尼斯人娱乐场. The ReSource Room is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and reservations are not required. Information on special activities and programs online.
   
• The Boeing Learning Center Learning Lab
  Groups of students, scouts, teachers, and families can participate in document-based learning lab programs. Working in replica storage and research spaces, participants will find, select and analyze primary sources, then make connections to bigger ideas about our government and history.
