Reference Reports for Genealogy

Reference Reports are brief (one to four page) descriptions of research strategies for frequently used records of genealogical interest held at the ÍþÄá˹ÈËÓéÀÖ³¡ Building in Washington, DC. Although some textual records are discussed, most of the records described are on microfilm. Many of these are also available on Ancestry, Fold3 (formerly Footnote), or Family Search, however, the reference reports generally do not indicate which records are online. These reports are also available in hard copy in the Microfilm Reading Room (MRR) at the ÍþÄá˹ÈËÓéÀÖ³¡ Building in Washington, DC.

The Reference Reports are arranged by general subject headings. The reports are listed by individual topic. Please check back soon for updates.
